Free training programs for the MEC trail race series

MEC Trail Race Series 2018

MEC and United for Sport are proud to offer you unique coaching for the MEC trail race series: Chantecler (June 9th), Mont Tremblant (July 29th), Rawdon (August 26th), Mount Kaaikop (September 30th), and Mont-Royal (October 20th). Training programs, trail running clinics on Mount Royal and group warm-ups on the day of each race: everything is there to allow you to have fun and progress this season!

Free training programs

United for Sport offers two types of training programs: 8-week programs (5, 10, 20 and 40 km) and programs for the entire MEC trail race series (5, 10 and 20 km), from May 14 to October 20, 2018. For each distance, a beginner and an intermediate version are offered to accommodate both those who are new to the world of trail running and those with more experience. These programs are offered to you thanks to the involvement of Philippe Viau-Dupuis, Julien Lachance and Maxime Leboeuf, elite runners who wish to share their knowledge and their passion.

During your preparation, your coaches will contact you by email to share advice and important information about your program. Group warm-up before each race

Before each race, United for Sport athletes-coaches will host a group warm-up to teach runners an effective routine to prepare the body for the effort. They will also provide advice aimed at gaining speed in ascents and descents. The warm-ups are suitable for runners of all levels and will last between 30 to 45 minutes.

Important details about group warm-ups (time, meeting point, etc.) will be published on the MEC website dedicated to each race.


Free trail run and clinic on mount Royal

In collaboration with MEC, United for Sport athletes will lead FREE trail running workouts on mount Royal. Planned : a 45 minute clinic on the main techniques to be more efficient on climbs, descents and technical sections. Each clinic is followed by a 60 minute workout, for a total duration of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Workouts and clinics are suitable for both beginners and experienced runners. 

First workout: June 9th from 9 h 30 to 11 h 30, MEC on St-Denis street.
